NUCLEAR MEDICINE IMAGING

A form of medical imaging that uses Nuclear isotopes known as Radionuclides, the goal of this exam is to get information about the patient's body that will be useful in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease.

The focus is on organs and tissue functions, unlike other conventional imaging tools like CT scan and MRI that focuses on anatomical section.

The scans are performed to examine the function of the heart, lungs, gall bladder, bones, thyroid, brain, lymph nodes and more, it can pin point infections, tumor, aneurysms, inadequate blood flow, blood cell disorders and identify cancer stage.
